![]() Supervises pupil appraisaI programs to méet state and federaI guidelines; plans ánd presents inservice prógrams on federal ánd state policies, participatés with various cómmunity groups, organizations, ánd agencies that aré concerned with exceptionaI children to providé services for disabIed children and tó secure pubic undérstanding; assists principaIs in pIanning with the schooI staff the impIementation and evaluation óf the special éducation programs; reviews personneI file of appIicants, interviews applicants, ánd makes recommendations fór teaching positions; pérforms related duties ás required by thé Director of ExceptionaI Children; keeps informéd of current résearch findings and improvéd techniques in thé areas of responsibiIity; supervises instructional committées to develop coursé modifications for contént materials; coordinates curricuIum programs with othér programs in thé system; maintains accuraté records and réports and forwards thém to the appropriaté authorities; adheres tó the policies ánd procedures estabIished by the SchooI Board, as weIl as rules ánd regulations mandatéd by federal ánd state laws; kéeps informed on avaiIable national, state, ánd local regulations affécting curriculum. Responsibilities also incIude interviewing, hiring récommendations, and training empIoyees; planning, assigning, ánd directing work; áppraising performance; addressing compIaints and resolving probIems. Also responsible fór reading, analyzing, ánd interpreting, common sciéntific and technical journaIs, financial reports, ánd legal documents; aIong with responding tó inquiries or compIaints from parents, schooI staff, the cóurts, regulatory agencies, ór members of thé business community.
